UI/UX Designer (Product Designer)

San Francisco, CA (On-site) · Full-time

As a UI/UX Designer, you'll shape the look, feel, and usability of Methodic’s platform (and the white-label apps we offer our clients). You will transform complex financial workflows into intuitive and elegant user interfaces. Working closely with product managers and engineers, you'll ensure that our application is not only powerful in functionality but also easy and even enjoyable to use for both our clients (financial businesses) and their end-users.

Responsibilities

Design user interfaces for the Methodic web application, including dashboards, multi-step workflows (like customer onboarding, account setup), transaction views, reporting pages, and admin tools.
Create wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes that capture both the big-picture flow and the fine-detail interactions of new features.
Simplify complex processes (such as compliance checks, money transfers, investment operations) into clear, step-by-step user experiences with an emphasis on clarity and usability.
Establish and maintain a coherent visual style and UI component library (design system) to ensure consistency across the platform and any white-label products.
Conduct user research and usability testing (when possible) to gather feedback on designs and identify areas of confusion or improvement.
Iterate on designs based on feedback from users, stakeholders, and analytics (e.g., if users are dropping off at a certain step, refine that screen’s design).
Collaborate with front-end developers during implementation to ensure design fidelity and that UX considerations are properly addressed (responsive design, accessibility, etc.).

Requirements

4+ years of experience in UI/UX or product design with a portfolio of web application designs (bonus points for experience in fintech or other complex, data-heavy apps).
Proficiency with design and prototyping tools (such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar).
Strong understanding of UX principles and best practices; ability to design for users with varying levels of technical proficiency.
Experience designing complex workflows or enterprise software interfaces – comfortable working on data tables, forms, and interactive dashboards, not just simple websites.
Keen eye for visual design, typography, and attention to detail, combined with the ability to think about the broader user journey.
Basic familiarity with front-end development (HTML/CSS, responsive design principles) to ensure designs are feasible and to facilitate effective communication with developers.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to articulate design decisions and work iteratively with feedback.
